The Art of Volunteering

We are all guilty of having good intentions and not quite following through with things that are good for us. Diets, exercise, and professional development activities.

I find myself complaining about work situations with despair and exasperation, yet it is so easy to remain complacent and not do anything to improve the situation.

Looking for a better job and dreaming won’t cut it. Going back to school to rediscover a passion and increase employability is a thought that crosses my mind as well. But what I feel really will help is volunteering.

Spending some of your free time at an organization of your choice shows employers that you are dedicated to learning and have a have an appreciation for the community.

Yes you can!

As the options in front of me seem to dwindle and the opportunities few, I feel that volunteering will open up the doors to personal and professional growth because you will learn and be exposed to current practices, regulations and resources that are absolutely invaluable.

  1. Volunteering is the way to go when in need of some experience! Great for students as it only improves their resume and cover letter when going after that job in the sky! Great story Natalia!
